We are getting married in the garden of Lina’s family home, on the coast at Sayada. Both days are at the same house.

Outdoors, in July. The celebration is in the garden and the evenings are warm. Flat or block heels are kinder on grass than stilettos.
Sayada is a small coastal town in the Monastir Governorate, about fifteen kilometres south of Monastir, looking out over the Gulf of Monastir and the Kuriat islands. It is not near the capital, so it is worth deciding early which airport you fly into.
The closest airport, and the one to aim for if you can.
Tunisia's third largest, served by around ten airlines flying mostly to Europe, among them Tunisair, Nouvelair, Transavia France, Luxair, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings.
A reasonable second choice, mainly charter and seasonal European routes. Worth checking if Monastir has nothing on your dates.
The country's main airport, with roughly sixty destinations across twenty-nine airlines. If you are coming from the United States or the Gulf, you will most likely connect through here.
Allow about two hours to drive down on the A1 motorway, and closer to two and a half in July when the coast is busy. The direct train from Tunis Ville to Monastir takes around three hours.
Taxis and car hire are available at all three airports. From Monastir the drive is short. From Tunis it is a straightforward run down the motorway.

This is the quietly useful one. The Sahel Metro is an electrified coastal line run by SNCFT, seventy-three kilometres from Sousse to Mahdia with a spur to Monastir, thirty stations in all.
Sayada has its own station, and so does Monastir airport. The Skanes–Monastir airport stop sits on the same line, so you can step off your flight and reach Sayada without a car.

Shared minibuses connect Monastir with Sousse, Mahdia and further afield. They leave when they are full rather than to a timetable, so there is rarely a long wait, but they are best if you already know Tunisia.
Sayada itself is a small town and has no hotels of any size. The nearest cluster runs along the coast at Skanes and Monastir, roughly fifteen to twenty-five kilometres away, which is also where the airport is.
These are the properties we are looking at. We have not approached any of them yet, so treat this as a starting point rather than a recommendation.

The celebration is outdoors on grass, in July. Block heels or flats will serve you far better than stilettos, and linen will serve you better than wool.
Hot, and dry. July on this coast averages a daytime high around 32 to 34°C, falling to about 22 to 24°C after sunset. Rainfall in July is close to nothing.
Both celebrations run into the evening, so you will miss the worst of the afternoon. The sea sits at about 25°C if you are staying on the coast.
United States passport holders do not need a visa for stays of up to ninety days. Qatari passport holders likewise do not, up to ninety days.
If you live in Qatar but hold another passport, you will most likely need a visa, though a valid GCC residence permit can allow a short visa on arrival.
Please check for your own passport. Entry rules change, and we would rather you confirmed with the Tunisian embassy or consulate in your country than relied on this page.
Yes. Children are welcome at both the Katb Ktab and the wedding.

It is a private garden: grass underfoot, and there are steps up to the house. If anyone in your party would find that difficult, tell us when you reply and we will make sure it is looked after.
Both. The Katb Ktab is in Arabic. Around it you will hear Arabic, French and English, and nobody will be left out of a conversation.
